An adorable dog who has spent her entire life in kennels is looking for a loving home to spend her retirement.

Molly, an 11-year-old Boxer cross, was found as a stray at eight months old and has been staying in Loughborough’s Dogs Trust kennels since then.

If the honey-coloured pooch doesn’t find someone to love her soon, she will spend her entire life there.

Now, Dogs Trust is desperate to find someone to adopt her so she can spend her older years in a loving home.

Celine Di Crocco, manager at Dogs Trust, Loughborough says: “Molly is a very special girl with a big heart and we would love her to finally find the home she deserves.”

Although Molly has not spent much time in a home, Celine can personally vouch that Molly is the ‘perfect house guest’ after she spent some time living with her.

“She was perfectly comfortable with all the different sounds and smells, slept in the lounge at night and we enjoyed a cuddle on the sofa in the evening,” she added.

However, going to live with a family will be a big change for Molly after living in a kennel for over a decade, so the charity asks prospective owners to take a gentle approach when meeting her.

“She had a really tough start in life, but every dog really does deserve a loving family and we’re hoping that this Grandparent’s Day, Molly finally gets to meet hers.”

Anyone wanting to adopt her will have to visit her several times to ensure Molly is comfortable.

She can live with a maximum of two adults maximum and no other pets or children.

“She really is a gorgeous girl so if someone is looking to welcome an older dog into their lives, then she could be the one,” adds Celine.

“We look after all of our dogs until the time is right for them to head home with their very own family, however long that takes, so Molly will be with us until that day comes, but we would like to think her wait will soon be over.”
